Andrew Penn Romine
Excerpt:
The shape of the land grew dark, cloaking the husks of the surrounding farms in shadow. No lights burned in their hollow shacks, Depression and drought had driven their inhabitants out even before the dust storms blew black and fierce from the north. They’d passed a shanty town of tents and cars about a mile back, though. A camp of refugees fleeing the dust and Depression. Rebecca saw dirty children and men with narrow, feral faces watch as they passed. She shivered, as a cool, grainy wing ruffled her dress.

Writing Description:
I write mostly fantasy tinged with horror and sometimes horror tinged with fantasy. When I'm feeling really feisty, I also write science fiction.
Writing Goals:
I'm currently at work on a dark fantasy novel set during the Great Depression, and plan to write 3,000-5,000 words a week on my first draft. I have a handful of short stories I'm in the midst of polishing up as well.
Fundraising Goals:
I have no particular amount in mind, but I hope to raise awareness for the Clarion West organization during the Write-a-thon.For my first five sponsors, I'll use your names (first or last, at least) in the novel. For the sponsor who donates the highest amount, I'll write you into a scene.
