Bio: 
Barry Deutsch attended Portland State University, where his political cartoons in the student newspaper won the Charles Schulz Award. More recently, Abrams published his first graphic novel Hereville, the story of "yet another troll-fighting 11-year-old Orthodox Jewish Girl," described by a School Library Journal reviewer as "the best graphic novel of 2010 for kids. Bar none." Hereville won the 2011 Sydney Taylor Book Award, the first time a graphic novel has won. Hereville is the first graphic novel ever nominated for the Andre Norton Award and is currently nominated for an Eisner Award.Deutsch lives in Portland, in a bright blue house with pink trim.
