I am the unfortunate issue of ill-matched parents, and a more melancholy union I cannot imagine. How their circles managed to intersect is a mystery. My mother was sent to the island to recuperate from a nervous breakdown. That was a sham. In fact, the family had packed her off with a miserable remittance and curt instructions to see the world -- forever.
Bio
Chris Furst toils as an editor and researcher by day. By night he stalks dreamtigers, though sometimes they stalk him. He attended Clarion West in 2005. His week two story, "The Last Great Clown Hunt," is forthcoming in Weird Tales. You can also hear him read on PodCastle.
