They tell us that on the day Grandjack Major thumped over the plain toward the mouth of the Road, the sky glowed bluer than ever and two ewe-lamb clouds hovered over his head, although you would have thought the warm spring breeze would blow them away. But old Grandjack (real designation Azure-North-12 for the math house he led, but we call him Grandjack because it sounds better) wouldn't have known how such things work; that was back in the math time, the time of well-known facts and calculations, when he went on the Road to look for his boy.
Bio
Lived most of my life in Los Angeles--have been a tow-truck dispatcher, ice cream scooper, high school English teacher, and legal secretary. Will celebrate the second anniversary of my first and only marriage this August. Graduated from CW 2007, at 46 the old man of the bunch--hopefully do not write like an old man.
Writing Description
Character-driven SF. I generally like typical three-act structure with at least one or two oddball moments per story.
Goals
My goal is to revise three Clarion West stories by the end of the 'thon and submit them to professional magazines.
