Jessica Reisman
Excerpt:
Kabbalah Nine II was playing at the Crimea and Micah had seen it three times so far. But Shay Ballentyne said yes when he asked her out, so he took her to the seven o’clock show. Shay had a way of fingering the tiny gold cross that hung on a slender chain around her neck while giving Micah a sizing-up look with her grey eyes that made Micah’s hands sweat and produced a sweet ache in his circumcised Jew-boy heart. They sat in the balcony, center-front, and it was only them in the alchemical dark. The brass balcony rail glimmered dully in the flicker of the previews, antediluvian stream of story above them moted and radiant.

Writing Description:
"Delicate and lyrical, Jessica Reisman's words resonate with a power that is deceptively simple. Her vivid stories flow off the page and often stay with me for days, certain phrases or scenes replaying in my head." --reviewer Rick Klaw
Writing Goals:
I intend to finish a draft of my current novel in progress, Deep Terrain, an alternate-Earth fantasy set in and around the equivalent to our Earth's South China Sea and Indian Ocean areas in the mid-1600s.
