“Town ain’t much to look at, Doc,” Paulie Seasons said.
Paulie stood half way between one and two meters tall, splinter thin, with a big, balding head and a sharp-nosed ferret face. He wore a tight, gray outfit, more wrapped than dressed, and sat upon his red Orient steamer-bike like a toothpick on two wheels.
Not much to look at, either, but how the man could talk.
Professor Elias Proffitt shrugged. “Can't depend on first impressions, Paulie. Take a look at you.”
Bio
K. C. lives in Seattle, a stone's throw from Puget Sound. She is a 2010 Clarion West graduate and a 2009 Writers of the Future winner. K. C. writes speculative fiction full-time, as well as co-editing and publishing 10Flash, a quarterly online magazine featuring genre flash fiction. K. C. is an active member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America.

Writing Description
I write a bit of everything -- hard SF, urban fantasy, steampunk, weird western, horror. My writing friends tell me I write old-school stories. I like that notion.
Goals
I plan to write 5,000 words a week toward my first SF novel -- Boogeyman -- an alternate history, steampunk, weird western mish-mash. I currently have 25,000 words written. I hope to complete the book -- at 70,000 words or so -- by Labor Day.
I'd like to raise at least $100 dollars for Clarion West. I will include anyone who contributes $20 or more toward that goal as a character in the book.
