Bio:
Over the course of his first three and a half decades, M. David Blake has been a ditchdigger, a troubleshooter, a gallery artist, a woodturner, and a poet. He has run soundboards for live performances, done lost wax casting, scooped ice cream while serving as a barista, crash-tested software used by a significant portion of the entertainment industry, and reassembled the shattered skull of a murder victim. Blake currently lives in Hillsborough, North Carolina, with his wife, their daughter, the memory of a geriatric cat, and several thousand books. He has no known connection to the Clarion West Writers Workshop.

Writing Description:
Lois Tilton of Locus Online recommended "Absinthe Fish" as a "lovely hallucinatory meditation on the metaphors of infinite possibility." Sam Tomaino of SFRevu enthusiastically described the same story as "something really different."
Writing Goals:
I am an associate member of SFWA, and my immediate goal is to become an active member, which will require an additional pair of professional sales. Toward that end, during the six-week span between June 19 and July 29, I will pen a minimum of three new short stories so that they may be added to my submission queue. (Stories will only be counted as an achievement if they are complete, of at least 3,500 words apiece, and if I deem them worthy of a place in the queue.)
Fundraising Goals:
So what is my fundraising goal? Quite simply, it is to help Clarion West Writers Workshop fund the workshop and the various scholarships that make it possible for other writers to attend. If you enjoy my writing, your pledge will support that endeavor, and any amount is gratefully accepted. Still, to make things interesting, if I am the top donation earner, I will supply a copy of "Absinthe Fish" written with fountain pen in green ink on parchment to the individual who contributes the largest amount.
