Excerpt:
Greenish yellow and gelatinous, it had multicolored chunks suspended in it, and no eyes or face. About the size of a puppy, it extended pseudopods from its central mass to climb over the edge of the bathtub. It opened a mouth full of shark-like teeth and snarled.Donna and I screamed like a pack of sorority girls in a horror movie and stumbled over each other as we fled the bathroom. We regrouped at the couch, keeping our eyes on the bathroom door and the coffee cup I’d dropped there. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I wondered if I would be able to get the coffee stains out of the carpet and reclaim my deposit on the apartment.
