Excerpt
"I don't think we've come this way before," Zora said. She stepped carefully down the crumbling stairs of damp concrete. Moss and odd, pinky-purple flowers were wedged in the cracks between steps. She stopped to see if Nora had followed her. Nora and Zora were friends, though they weren't much alike. Except for their names rhyming. They had met on a playground, but neither of them had been playing there. Now they were looking for Lim.

Goals
This is my first Write-a-thon. My goal is two-fold: first, to write 500 words per week on a children's fantasy called "Looking for Lim," on which I'm collaborating with Eileen Gunn. Second, I want to complete a short short story called "Indeed," which is based on the meeting and courtship of two of my young friends who recently married. Both are science fiction fans, so the story will be SF.
At this point, I'm simply giving this a try. I'm asking for donations of $5 per 500 words from my supporters.
