Inside the Arabian Nights Funhouse, an eight-feet-by-eight-feet genie bottle held her captive Tuesday through Sunday, surrounded by plush, tacky furniture. Anywhere else, this would have appeared a misplaced rumpus room dressed up for a Persian Mystery swinger’s party, but here, in Niagara Falls, it was just part of the scenery. Neon icing on top of summer vacation cake.

Bio

I attended Clarion West just last year and have never been so productive in my life. Hopefully I’ve bottled enough of that magic to get something done this summer, too.

I live in Toronto, Canada with my husband and cat. I work as a freelance copywriter and enjoy consuming media, fresh air, and pie.

Writing Description

I write a lot of cross-genre stuff, usually rooted in the mundane and influenced by the imagination. I’m interested in exploring human behavior in alien situations as well as alien behavior in human situations. I like to bring the funny and sometimes the gore. Wonder and cynicism both get seats at the table.

Goals

500 words a day. The result will be at least two shiny new short stories, ready to make their way in the world. I’m also hoping to keep working on the novel I’ve started, involving gnomes and female valets.
