Bio

Stephanie Burgis is an American writer who lives in England with her husband (and fellow CW '01 grad) Patrick Samphire and their crazy-sweet border collie, Maya. She has sold over twenty short stor­ies to various magazines, anthologies, and podcasts, including Strange Horizons, Aeon, and Escape Pod.

Writing Description

Stephanie writes light-hearted historical fantasy novels for a YA audience (magic, romance, and adventure in Jane Austen's England!) and both historical and contemporary fantasy short stories for an ad­ult audience.


Goals

Last year during the Write-a-thon I finished the first book in my YA fantasy series, Kat by Moonlight, which is now represented by agent Barry Goldblatt. This year, my Write-a-thon goal is to finish the second book in the series (tentatively titled Kat by Starlight) and also revise two short stories.
